Should I Go Gluten-Free?

DS is having rash on his cute lil’ bum because I can’t get his cloth diapers clean enough.  (Seriously, the HE FL washer is my new nemesis.)  And that’s after I tried a supercharged washing routine with an assortment of Bac Out, Oxyclean, Nellie’s laundry soda, and soap nuts.  He’s back on flushies until I figure something out.  I might have to boil the inserts.

However, I also notice (and noticed for a long time) DS’s anus is always red since, well, forever.

If people on Foodlab are to be believed, DS might have food sensitivity.  The most common food sensitivity are apparently gluten, dairy, soy, and corn.

While DS doesn’t eat any of these food other than gluten directly, he might still get it from my milk.  That means I need to be gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and corn-free.  I’m already shellfish-free and nut-free.

My challenges:

  1. We Chinese use soy sauce to marinate pretty much everything.
  2. We eat out on weekends and it’s impossible to know what goes in them.
  3. It takes 6-8 weeks to eliminate all the contaminants from his system, but we are going on a 10-day trip to Greece in 3 weeks.
  4. Explaining to DH this is necessary.  He’s also the type of person who believes there are “social rules” which we all have to conform to, e.g. DS should wait for us to finish dinner and go to bed at 9pm because we adults have dinner at 8pm because *HE* has to stay late at work until then because *HE* doesn’t wake up until 10am in the morning to go to work.  (Sorry I’m ranting.)
